About me
I swapped a 15-year career in science and engineering to do something fantastic - horticulture! I now work outdoors instead of in a windowless bunker, and love putting in a really hard day's work to transform a garden and keep everything tickety-boo. It keeps me fit too!

When I was working long hours as a scientist I didn't have enough time to keep my garden looking its best, and I couldn't find the right gardener to help . I wanted a gardener who would know what was needed and get on with it. I wanted someone who would care for my garden like it was their own, who paid attention to detail and who had a creative eye for planting and design.

Knowledge & training
I believe in knowing my subject and having a deep understanding of what I am doing. In my previous career I was a doctor of science, and I apply the same pursuit of knowledge to gardening. So, to complement my 15 years of gardening experience, I'm studying for a diploma in horticulture from the Royal Horticulture Society, with support from the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh and Derby College.
